We always enjoy staying at J-Bar! It’s conveniently located to the boat launch at Empire. The owners, Jeff and Gabby, are always great to get to visit with and want to make sure you have a good stay. We’ve been staying at J-Bar for more than 20 years and will continue to stay there in the future. Great memories from many years of fishing, sharing meals, and telling fishing stories.
The Roberts family has been using the services offered at J-Bar for a few years now and have yet to have a bad experience. Jeff and his guides are the best in the business and great guys to spend a day fishing with. As far as lodging goes, you couldn't get much better at any other fish camp; all in all a great place and and even better time!!
Mr Jeff is a terrific person, the rooms are nice and I will stay here again. Actually, it will be my first choice! I did something incredibly stupid the night before a big fishing tournament and Mr Jeff found out and was extremely generous to help me get out of bind. If not for his generosity, my weekend would have cost me much more money and/or be ruined! Thanks for being a great person Mr Jeff!
We have been coming to the J Bar for the last 7 years . Unfortunately we haven't been here for sports fishing , but for work doing coastal restoration for a dredging company . There is nowhere else we would rather stay , which is why we continue to stay here . Mr. Jeff, Mrs. Gabby and Mr. Lynn ( as well as the entire staff) are some of the best people we have come to know in our travels . ( which have taken us all over this country ). The property is very well maintained , everyone is always friendly and eager to help in any way they can . From my first stay here about 700 miles from home where I knew Noone and nothing of the area , we were made to feel very welcome and at home . They told us of all the best places to dine , directions as well as any other information we needed . Mr Lynn always stopped by when we were outside. Just to have a chat and make sure we were happy . I came to look forward to his daily visit . All of our wants and needs were attended to immediately . In seven years we have absolutely nothing to complain about . The fishermen staying there always had great things to say about Mr. Jeff as a knowledgeable guide and all around great person . We would , and have , recommend staying here with anyone who ever got the chance.
